I have not read The Blinding Knife' but Brent Weeks' Night Angel trilogy was biarllint: gritty high fantasy with characters that were very, unavoidably real. Only trilogy I've read in a long time that when I got to the end I wished there was a fourth book. I imagine this will be just as good.
